John C. Dorn, Esq. came to the law firm of Foley and Foley from private practice settings in both healthcare delivery and law. He brings the unique perspective of seeing medicine as a business, having developed and successfully managed private and hospital based practices as well as a successful medical-legal consulting company.
John represents medical, chiropractic, dental and allied healthcare providers in the areas of compliance, credentialing, regulatory and licensure issues as well as revenue management and recovery matters. He has helped clients set up multi-disciplinary practices, obtain and maintain facility licensure, become and remain compliant with applicable record keeping, conflict of interest and fraud and abuse statutes and deal with staff hiring and firing issues. He has represented providers in matters involving their respective boards of registration and is approved the Massachusetts Board of Chiropractic Registration as a compliance monitor.
He also represents clients under the state (Massachusetts) and federal False Claims Act(s), also referred to as qui tam or “whistleblower” actions. He has successfully resolved many bodily injury cases, professional negligence cases and reimbursement denial cases.
John has lectured extensively to national insurance carriers in the areas of health care fraud and abuse. He has had involvement, ranging from expert witness to lead counsel, in all state (MA) courts as well as U.S. District Court.
